New England Trip: July 22. Vermont / Connecticut

Still in Vermont, one of the must-see things to do is a trip to Ben & Jerry's.  But since we went on this trip without an itinerary, we didn't have the required reservations to tour the factory. Nevertheless, we could walk around the grounds and see the flavor graveyard, which was pretty cool! And, of course, get some ice cream to cool off.
so true...
We did visit the Vermont State Museum in Montpelier, which was small and cute but I have almost no pictures of the inside exhibits!  I think the heat was getting to me.

We learned that New England Is comprised of the six states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island and at some point, became determined to see them all on this trip.  After some debate on what would constitute an 'official' visit to a state (in order to consider it 'visited' as opposed to just stopping over or driving through) we decided that a cultural event, museum visit, or some kind of activity would make the state 'count' as visited... and that a game of miniature golf would suffice.  With this in mind, we got moving on to Connecticut and found a mini golf that thankfully gave us some shade.  Who knew our hotel stay would be so eventful, with a fire in the hotel we stayed at, alarming to us but not apparently to the staff. Egads.
