We started off our day by visiting Commercial Street in Portland, a nice mix of shops and restaurants near the water front. Then we headed to the First Amendment Museum at the Gannett House in Augusta. My expectations were kind of low but it turned out to be quite interesting for all of us. Lots of exhibits to really make you think and a tour guide that was engaging and extremely knowledgeable.
Looking for the next thing to do or see, I saw a listing for Desert Maine and figured that was a must-see. Okay, so it's not a REAL desert but with the unending heat, it sure felt like one!
