Epic Vacay, Day Three: Marseille, France, 6/11/19

I have dreamed of going to France FOREVER!!!  After taking French in school from sixth grade through high school, I was seriously ready to immerse myself in some of their culture and language and got a chance at our second stop in Marseille, the second largest city in the country.  We did a hop on/hop off bus tour and got to see the old and new parts of town over the course of the day.

Port of Marseille
This canopy over the waterfront area is huge and offers a neat reflection of the busy waterfront

Notre Dame de la Garde

This church was unique in that it had a nautical theme -- there were hundreds of model boats hanging from the ceiling and the walls were decorated with life preservers and pictures of sailors -- interesting!!  Oh yeah, and all the usual gold leaf, stained glass windows, artwork, and sculptures.  Gorgeous.

The cathedral offered beautiful views of the sea and the city
