What?? That's right, Jason earned his Associate in Art degree from Elgin Community College, where he had participated in the accelerated college program in lieu of his junior and senior years of high school.
What an amazing accomplishment -- straight A's all the way through, a college degree at 17 years old, and 97 credits that will all transfer to his bachelor degree program. He escaped the hellish reality of a high school gifted academy spoiled by the introduction of a lottery system that changed it into something that no longer provided an appropriate learning environment for kids like Jason.
At ECC, Jase found the challenge that he always sought. Found friends. Found his path forward. Found out he has the grit, the smarts, the work ethic, the EVERYTHING he needs to succeed and thrive.
I'm so proud of this achievement!! Jason, you are fearless, you are brilliant, and there's nothing you can't do once you decide on doing it!! I can't wait to see what's next!!
