Ay carumba... me and my big mouth, saying at last year's race "hey, next year all the parents should run" caught up to me. Jack's high school coach remembered that comment and reminded us hangers-on in the high school group chat in March. Ok, so I got my new shoes and started training...
My two goals remained the same: don't die and finish by running over the line. Check and check!
Of course, Jack SLAYED the run and finished in 17:25, coming in 2nd of 707 runners!!!
Just think, if I shave off three minutes I'll be a contender to win my age group next year. Hmm...
