Day Off School

The boys had the day off school, so I took it off too.  I decided we would volunteer some time at Feed My Starving Children, a charity organization we had been to before with Jack's class.  Mama joined us too, and although we had talked about it, when we walked in, Jason got all grumpy and didn't want to do it. Maybe it was the hair net.
Before too long, though, he got into it, really focusing on the work of assembling food packets. The cheer we came up with (for every time we filed a box with 36 packets ) was "1,2,3,4, another box is out the door! "
There were 78 volunteers at our 2-hour session.  The average is one box packed per person.  Our collective tally at the end:

We had lunch at Chik-fil-a, and it was so nice we ate outside.  Still had some time to kill before our dental appointments, so we headed to a park we found last year.  What a perfect day!  And it's only half over!
