Great America - 10/13/13

The boys entered and won a contest at their bank for two Great America tickets.  We decided to take advantage of the nice day and a rare Sunday off for Dennis to have their first visit to the park.  The first ride they went on was called Reactor Core, which was basically a big mixing bowl that went really really fast. Fast is good!
 Aww, some brotherly love.
The park was really set up nicely for Halloween.  All the rides were renamed to something a little more creepy than normal and there were gravestones, zombies, and skeletons set up all over the place.  We didn't do any of the super-scary stuff like the haunted house or ghost trails, maybe in a couple years...
Jack LOVED the rollercoasters and even wanted to try riding the American Eagle backwards, but we just couldn't stomach the thought.  Sorry buddy, you'll have to take that on with your friends in a few years.
I'm still trying to get used to Jason's ultra-short haircut.  He likes it though.
Great America was fun, but not $150+ fun, even with the two free tickets.  And there were soooooooooooo many people!  I think it was worse than Disney.  We thought about buying 2014 season passes but by mid-day knew it wasn't really for us.  Maybe in a few years.
