Perfect Weather (encore)

We were graced with yet ANOTHER beautiful weekend. Dennis kicked it off by taking the boys to see Cars 2, which they had been counting down the days to see. Then yesterday we were busy with a Lowe's project, a Disney fun fest, our usual trip to the library, and then an unexpected stop at what we thought was a parking lot carnival but turned out to be a black gospel festival. Truth be told, I probably would have turned around and left but we were heartily welcomed. The kids had fun in the bouncy houses and were handed fudge bars, so all is good.

Today I wanted to take the boys to Phillips Park Zoo in Aurora. First, we had to have lunch at Burger King since they are featuring Transformer toys in the kids' meals. The kids also got special Transformer crowns; Jason got his favorite (Bumble Bee) and Jack got his favorite (Optimus Prime). They were so excited we had to stop by Daddy's work to show off their crowns and toys.

Jack does a victory pose after beating Jason at a lap around the sunken garden. Poor Jason, he tries so hard. I think next summer Jack's in for a big surprise as far as the brotherly competitions go...

Try as I might to get some unposed shots of Jack, he really likes to have his picture taken and will ask me to take his picture. What a strange twist, for anyone who remembers his distaste for posed pictures. We've had a lot of changes lately. Jack now eats hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches -- real kid food. Finally.

No, Jase isn't not sunburned. Both boys were well-slathered with sunscreen back in the Burger King parking lot. He's just hot and looking very dreamy!

Jason mans the sand pit. He looks like such a little man, tattoos on his arms and all. The zoo is pretty lame as far as zoos go, but the playground is awesome. We spent over two hours there and finally left as they were closing down for the night. Both boys fell asleep in the car on the way home. Another perfect day!
