It was about 90 degrees by 10 am and we were on the wrong side of the street... just as the parade started, the sun appeared full-on right over the buildings across the street from us. I kept pouring ice water onto Jack's baseball cap, but poor Jase (who won't wear a hat) was so hot and looks miserable here. He really did have a good time, though. I like how his hair looks like it's on fire in this picture.
The parade was definitely not as good as past ones, but the kids had a good time, and that's what it's all about, right? They always seem to find fun, even when it's in the nineties, the sun is searing our retinas, and the floats run short on candy.
This video was shot at breakfast this morning. Jason was talking about the 4th; I had told him we were going to a parade to celebrate America's birthday. He said he didn't know why we were invited to the American party and answered himself with 'just probably because we're Americans.' Cute!
