My baby goes to school now!

Okay, so maybe I shouldn't have begun my blog with a eulogy, but that's just the way the timing worked out. The other, bigger news is that Jack started preschool yesterday! Woo-hoo!! I really thought at least one of would be teary-eyed, but it just didn't happen. The school had a petting zoo that came to visit, and the animals were already outside when Jack arrived. He was pretty excited before he even got out of the car, and from what Dennis tells me, Jack pretty much threw down his backpack and headed for the animals. So much for separation anxiety.

So, that was his 'trial' day and now we begin the real stuff, just Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 1/2 hours each. We'll probably have to increase his time there, it really seems like he will be having a great time over the summer. In addition to all the regular stuff (reading books, coloring, reviewing letters, etc) the preschool brings in field trips to the kids on a regular basis. Today is Water Day, so the kids will be running around through sprinklers and playing with all kinds of water toys. Fun!

Me, I get to attend a couple of meetings and do some research on transit for the elderly, which is nearly as exciting as Water Day. Or so I try to tell myself.

Hey you're ahead of us already... We're thinking about pre-school for Priya in fall. Keeping her a little girl for just a few months more... :-(
