We had Jason's friend party this afternoon at Brunswick Zone, an extraordinary bowling place. They do an awesome job with everything...we just had to show up. We had our own personal party hostess who ordered our pizzas, brought us drinks, got the kids all shoed and set up on the score board.
When Jack and I were out running errands yesterday, we checked out potential cakes and cupcakes and found the PERFECT thing -- Pokemon cupcakes!! They came in three clusters of eight cupcakes with a keepsake Pokemon figure on top of each. Jason was thrilled!! He kept a very close eye on the figurines; I think he was worried they would get thrown out. He's a Pokemon junkie as of late.
Daddy gives a helping hand so Jase could swoop in and blow out the candle.
The party was set up for cosmic bowling, which was pretty cool! On the table you can see the balloon bouquet he got, attached to a unique sipper bottle shaped like a bowling pin. We also got him a commemorative real bowling pin, which all the kids signed with Sharpie markers. Jack, being the awesome big brother he is, was the first to sign it and wrote "Love you Bro" on it, then took the pin around to each kid to have them sign it -- without being asked! Super sweet!!!
Around the halfway point, all the kids from all the parties were called to the center of the bowling alley to do a group dance. The party hosts taught the kids the moves and the kids pretty much went wild. Somehow Jack ended up on the floor but had a smile on his face so all was well. Holy cow, when did his legs get so long?!
I'd say the party was super! I got to meet with and talk to all of the parents and the hostess took care of everything. In an hour and a half, it was all wrapped up (literally) and we walked out quite pleased with the day. Thumbs up for the Zone!
