Spring Break 2013 -- Branson Revisited

We had such a good time in Branson last year, we decided to go again. We left last Sunday March 24, and drove right into a raging blizzard in downstate Illinois. The roads quickly became treacherous and we ended up, after a couple complete turns at 60+ mph, in a ditch. Miraculously, no one was badly hurt and the car only needed minor repairs. We were glad to get to our very nice cottage at Stormy Point Village, where we stayed at the top of the hill overseeing the whole resort town and lake. Here, the boys show off their bowling trophies won for a Wii competition at the resort's activity center:
We spent HOURS at the pool. As in 2-3 hours per day. The pool noodles were a huge hit and we even invented a new game, called Noodleball. It's where you use a noodle as a bat to whack at a beach ball. The wet noodles makes a really loud THWACK sound, which adds to the ridiculousness of the game.

What would a trip to Branson be without a visit to Murphy Park? We found  this park last year and had to go back...a park with the same name as our beloved doggy!
We also visited Stockstill Park, which we also found last year. We spent a lot of time by the river, looking for rocks and sticks to throw in. Even though last year it was much warmer, we still had a lot of sunshine and pretty decent weather this year.

We found a cute little shopping area and this huge rocking chair:

On our last night in Branson, we saw the Todd Oliver and Friends show. Very cute! the dogs appear to talk during the show and we got to meet them afterward. Jason was annoyed that Irving and Lucy wouldn't talk to him but was delighted to meet with them nonetheless.

On the ride home we found an awesome park just outside of St. Louis where the boys ran off some energy. Thankfully we had decent weather for the ride home!
