Jase rides a trike

Faithful readers of this blog might remember seeing Jason "walk" his trike instead of using the pedals. All last summer and into this spring he would sit on the seat and hold onto the handlebars but completely ignore the pedals. Well, he wore through two pairs of sneakers already this year and we were getting pretty frustrated. Finally, we apparently picked the right pair of shoes, Thomas the Tank Engine, with flashy lights when he steps down. He is quite proud of these shoes. I told him he couldn't wear them while riding his trike unless he used the pedals, and VOILA! -- that day he started using the pedals and has used them since.

He goes much faster now. And, being Jason, doesn't always look forward... he has already ridden right into the mailbox, the dogs, and anyone not paying attention. And he takes turns a little too fast and sometimes topples over. So when you see pictures of him with bruises, bumps, and cuts I'm telling you now, the trike is the cause of most of it. Jack can take credit for the rest of 'em.
