We had such outstanding, warm weather on Thursday and Friday...but today is Saturday and it was cold, rainy, and all-around just gross this morning -- the morning of the Easter Egg Hunt. Oh well, I was determined to get the boys out and about, and after struggling with Jason to get his raincoat on, we finally got into the car. See how excited they look?

We were actually headed to the library first, and right across the street we saw people putting eggs all over the field that was home to the old library. It wasn't the egg hunt we were going to go to, but what the heck? I figured this one would work out fine. The rain grew harder and harder during the 15 minutes we had to wait. The boys were so good! Real troopers. The promise of unlimited candy held them over. There was practically no one in sight and over 6,000 eggs to be had.

About 2.7 seconds into the hunt, a few hundred people appeared out of nowhere. We all ran to the far end of the field so Jason wouldn't get trampled. We were totally drenched, and now encased in mud, but the hunt was on!

Afterward, we met up with the Easter Bunny, who gave us even more candy! Hooray! I bet Easter Egg Hunts are sponsored by dental clinics. Anyway, we had a good time and now Jason even likes his cute yellow raincoat.
