Fourth of July

The 4th of July is definitely one of my favorite holidays. We decked out the safari wagon with bunting and curly ribbon, and Jack and I made parade sticks to wave. This picture of the boys is a little blurry but you can see how we made the wagon look festive. It was Jack's first parade and he really liked seeing everyone marching, and he REALLY liked the part where they threw candy! Jason pretty much just hung out on my lap like a lump. Here's Jack with his parade stick...he helped me make the star on the top and was very proud of it, despite the look on his face in the picture. He looks worried to me...

Jason had his 9-month checkup on Wednesday and weighed in at a whopping 19 pounds, 12 ounces. This is the same kid who checked out of the hospital at 6 pounds, one ounce. And, he is 29 3/4 inches tall! Whoa!! What happened to my little baby? So that keeps him at the 90th percentile for height and around 30-40th for weight. Tall and skinny. The poor guy is still working on those first teeth. His gums are all lumpy and sore and doesn't want to eat solid food anymore right now. I think he will get about four teeth at once. Still, he managed to have some fun in the pool over the weekend; we decided to forgo the water for now and put some plastic balls in there. He loved it!
