Jack took up violin in the summer of 2016 after playing sax for a year. After one year of instruction twice a week and four weeks of orchestra camp this summer, he's been having violin instruction every day since he picked violin for one of his two elective courses in 7th grade. He asked for an electric violin recently, and seeing how much he practices -- sometimes for hours at a time -- I didn't hesitate and it arrived last week.
