Summer Vacation, Branson MO (June 19-24)

Summertime, time for a road trip!  We could call this one the Groupon vacation, because pretty much everything we did was purchased through Groupon.  We drove down to Branson on Father's Day for a four-night stay at the Grand Country Waterpark Resort.  The drive was fairly long and somewhat boring (for me, anyway).  The boys mostly slept and played video games.

We did see some really cool stuff.  Here's a couple pix from Branson's Wild World, where the boys were able to feed sharks (Jason) and stingrays (Jack).  I stayed a few steps back and held my breath.

Of course, we visited the river, which we've done on our two previous trips to the Branson area. Stockstill Park and Royal Oak Park are gorgeous, albeit somewhat dry this year, but this allowed us to walk pretty far along what was the riverbed.  The boys love throwing rocks into the water.  It's really relaxing and QUIET.

A trip to Branson Landing is always a must.  The water show is spectacular and really got Jason in a trance.  I like how the rainbow appeared over him in this shot.

Jason fed a bunch of baby animals including goats, deer, and a camel
